Week of March 14: exec order

In a March 14 executive order, Trump directed the elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, or ILMS, functions “to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law” as his administration seeks to downsize the federal government.

Kevin Sonderling, newly appointed director of IMLS, said, “We will revitalize IMLS and restore focus on patriotism, ensuring we preserve our country’s core values, promote American exceptionalism and cultivate love of country in future generations.”
